Billy Joe Saunders weighs in lighter than Martin Murray despite being ‘like a fat pig’, Tyson Fury offers ‘fantastic shape’ praise
Tyson Fury congratulated Billy Joe Saunders for being in ‘fantastic shape’ as he weighed in lighter than Martin Murray.
Saunders will enter the ring for the first time in 13 months on Friday, where he defends his WBO super middleweight title.

‘Superb’ weighed in at 167.3lbs while Murray weighed in at 167.4lbs, something that may have surprised Saunders himself, as he admits he goes up in weight ‘like a fat pig’.
“Martin is obviously a good family man and he lives the life outside the gym probably better than me – maybe that makes it more equal.
“I go up (in weight) like a fat pig so he’s in camp training all the time while I’m sitting back eating cakes, then I get a phone call saying this is what you’re getting, go to camp and train and fight,” Saunders revealed.
WBC heavyweight champ and friend of Saunders Fury offered his congratulations for his trim physique.
“Massive good luck to @saundersbillyjoe,” Fury said on Instagram.
“He is in fantastic shape. Looking forward to watching.”
Beat Murray and Saunders can potentially turn his attentions to the winner of the upcoming clash between WBA champion Callum Smith and the revered Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, which takes place in Texas on December 19.
However, Saunders will need to fight well against Murray to enter the conversation of facing Canelo or Smith having been lacklustre in his last two bouts.
“I don’t put pressure on myself, but obviously if I’m chasing the winner of Callum Smith and Canelo, I know I’ve got to do something that no one’s done – I have to shine against Martin Murray,” Saunders said.
