Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones feud gets deeply personal on Twitter as Last Stylebender talks about Jones’ deceased mother and posts videos of his arrests
The Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya feud isn’t going away anytime soon.
Two of UFC’s biggest stars have been taking shots at each other for what seems like an eternity now, but things really escalated on Monday night.
Both men replied to one another and simply tweeted about each other for hours on end with Jones belittling Adesanya, but the UFC middleweight champion took savage shots at Jones’ checkered past from his brushes with the law to his failed drugs tests.
Of course, fans were weighing in at every opportunity and one even suggested that Jones would meet the same fate as Paulo Costa did at the hands of The Last Stylebender at UFC 253.
“Costa lost the fight the day he signed the contract to fight for the championship,” Jones said about the Brazilian.
“His new [fame] defeated him before the fight even started. Kid just stood there in front of a kickboxer and showboated for the cameras. Don’t compare me to someone who’s proven nothing.
“I’ve never been knocked out or even dropped in my career. I’ll take this boy down and break something on his body, fact,” Jones continued in another tweet.
“Izzy mentions me in an interview on a monthly basis,” Jones said.
“The only time you hear for me is when I respond. It’s no secret that I want to break this clown’s neck. B*tch is hiding behind The Internet and his coaches.”
A few days ago, Jones wondered if Adesanya’s father believed that his son was ready to face someone of the level of Jones, a genuine all-time great by any standard.
Adesanya replied on Twitter: “My pops already told me how I’d beat you. Trust, he knows. Your mother would be disappointed in who you’ve become.”
Many fans thought Adesanya crossed the line by bringing Jones’ deceased mother into it, especially in that manner. Jones mentioned it in passing during their exchanges on Monday night.
“Fighter and coach is mentioning my name in interviews but refused to sign the dotted line. Straight h*e sh*t. Mention a man’s dead mother over the Internet but looking to fight Jared Cannonier.”
Adesanya doesn’t think Jones should be making comments like that given his history. Jones once said he would only fight Daniel Cormier again if he moved back down to light-heavyweight to face him, a stance Adesanya didn’t like.
“Ultimate b***h move. I’d never even ask you to come to 185. I just go up and slay em. Also tested positive when he fought DC. A coward you is.”
He also doesn’t believe Jones is really heading to heavyweight.
“Lol…been cock teasing heavyweight move for 7 years. He’ll never do it. He can just wait in line like the rest of them.”
One of Jones’ favourite insults has been the knockout Adesanya suffered while competing in K-1. Bones said if there wasn’t a referee on hand, Adesanya could have died that night, but the Nigerian had a cutting reply to that one.
“If God didn’t intervene you know who else could have died? An unborn child and the mother,” referring to Jones’ hit and run.
Adesanya continued to up the ante with a series of tweets highlighting Jones’ previous mistakes and this war looks far from over.
