US Election: Kamala Harris snubbed by host in awkward name blunder – ‘SENATOR Harris’ | World | News
Susan Page, Washington bureau chief for USA Today, referred to the Democrat senator by her first name while attempting to ask a question. It comes during the first and only Vice Presidential debates between Ms Harris and Mike Pence.
Ms Page, when asking the Senator a question about the coronavirus pandemic, called her Kamala in a breakaway from standard debate protocol.
Ms Harris laughed off the blunder, and said: “That’s fine, I’m Kamala.”
The debate host was apologetic, and in a lighthearted moment added: “You’re Senator Harris to me.”
